ABOUT SUNDAY SCHOOL
Masjid Annur Sunday School was established over 20 years ago. The school provide Islamic education for young Muslims ages 4-18. The school focuses on four subjects: Arabic, Quran, Islamic Studies, and Islamic history. The classes are held weekly on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The school schedule is as follows:
10:00 - 10:15 Assembly
10:15 - 11:15 Quran
11:15 - 12:00 Arabic
12:00 - 12:30 Lunch
12:30 - 01:20 Islamic Studies
01:20 - 01:30 Dhuhr Prayer
01:30 - 02:30 Islamic History
QURANIC AND ISLAMIC STUDIES
Quranic Studies cover the recitation, memorization and understanding of the Holy Quran. The Islamic Studies cover the Islamic history, the issues of the lawful (halaal) and the prohibited (haram), and the Sunnah and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The students offer Dhuhr Prayer in congregation. Students are grouped into age-appropriate and knowledge-appropriate levels.
ARABIC LANGUAGE
The language is taught from the alphabet to words and vocabulary development. Verbal interaction early on strengthens the program, with emphasis on grammar and usage in the upper grades. Formal instruction and evaluation of reading and writing skills in Arabic is provided by a native-Arabic speaking teacher. Arabic language classes are grouped according to each student’s level of proficiency.
FEES
Fee for each child is $200.00 and is due before the beginning of each semester.
A late registration fee of $10.00 will be charged after the second week of the semester.
If a child does not attend the school, his/her fee can be refunded, but only up to the second week of the semester; after this day, no refunds will be issued after this.
