Imran graduated from the University of Toronto in 2007. He completed post graduate education at the Rotman School of Management and now works as a Manager at a Lighting and Electrical Components manufacturing firm. He volunteers part time at the Al Huda Institute as the Organizational Development Co-ordinator and Head of Public Relations, and part-timekhatīb.
Dr. Jamaal Zarabozo is a prolific writer, researcher and speaker, who has lectured around the world on many traditional and contemporary issues and gained distinction in the field of dawah. Widely respected in Islamic scholarly circles, he has authored numerous books including a multi-volume explanation of the 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi and “How to Approach and Understand the Quran,” and he has also translated, edited and compiled many others. His diverse works appeal to both the serious student of knowledge as well as Muslims seeking a better understanding of their deen. Dr. Zarabozo also teaches online and onsite courses in Sacramento and in the Bay Area on Fiqh, Hadith, Arabic, and Legal Theory. Aside from his distinguished background in the Islamic Sciences, Sh. Zarabozo also has an educational background in economics – he earned both his Bachelors and Masters in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and Davis. In 2015, he was awarded honorary doctorates by Mishkah University. He serves as one of the juristic experts on the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA) and has participated in the issuing of vital fatawa on issues affecting Muslims today.
Majed Mahmoud is one of the leading activists of Da‘wah in his community. With his heart-touching reminders and soft approach, Majed makes Islam digestible and beloved to people of all ages.
Majed is a shining example for students seeking growth and development within Islamic Studies. He’s the first graduate of AlMaghrib Institute to become one of its instructors, performing exceptionally in over 50 seminars including theology, Islamic jurisprudence, and Quranic Sciences. As Majed travels worldwide lecturing about different aspects of Islam, he works full-time as a mechanical engineer.
He has completed Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Jurisprudence & Legal Theory from Al-Madinah International University. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University.
Graduate of English Literature – Brooklyn College, NYC. Studied at College of Hadith at the Islamic University of Madinah. Currently completing Bachelors in Islamic Studies at Mishkah University. Translated major works for the International Islamic Publishing House, the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America, and Mishkah University.
Rasha Al Badry
Ustatha Rasha Al badry was born in Kuwait and raised in Cairo, Egypt. In her secular
studies, she graduated from a political sciences college in Egypt. Ustatha Rasha Memorized the Quran and got Ijazah from her shiekh at Al-azhar. She has been teaching Tafseer Al Quran in Arabic and English for more than 15 years. She has taught Islamic studies for kids and teens for the past 14 years at Islamic schools
and halaqahs. She also conducts ladies halaqas and conference line lectures on weekly basis in Fresno. Ustatha Rasha has been a guest speaker at our conferences in the past and we are happy to be having her again at the conference.
Previously, the shaykh assumed various prominent positions some of which were: Professor in the Faculty of Legislation and Law at Al-Azhar University, Professor at Umm Al Qura University, a visiting professor in the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Sciences in Washington DC., President of the American Open University and a VP to its Board of Trustees.
Currently, the shaykh is the President of Mishkah University and the Secretary General for the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America.
Dr. Salah Assawy is an Egyptian born in Fazarah village. In 1976, he completed his bachelor degree in the faculty of Legislation and Law in Al Azhar University and in 1985, he earned his Ph.D in Islamic Religious Sciences at the faculty of Legislation and Law. He earned his degree with distinction and the highest level honors.
The Shaykh participated in many Islamic conferences about Islamic da’wah in general and particularly in the field of the scientific miracle in Qur’an and Sunnah in Saudi Arabia, Cairo, Islamabad, Britain, America, Kenya, Senegal and other world countries. He held numerous specialized jurisprudential workshops in the fields of legislative politics, guidance of Islamic awakening and in the fields of Doctrine, Jurisprudence and Creed in the UK and US a number of African countries. He also supervised the project of intellectual heritage facilitation which aims at spreading the utilization of heritage books of by rendering their material concise thus achieving their objectives and also re-organizing their contents and adding commentary where needed.
He co-founded the American Open University which offers undergraduate and post graduate level education in all fields of the Islamic and Arabic studies for English and Arabic speakers, through distant leaning means. The university expands the base of Islamic knowledge utilization through its virtually unlimited capacity. He also co-founded the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America.
Imam Shadeed completed his diploma in Arabic and graduated from the school of Hadith in Madinah Imam Shadeed has been known to tackle social issues effecting Muslims in urban societies, especially marriage. Imam Shadeed has also translated many classical Arabic works into the English Language including The Role of the Woman in Rectifying her Community by Muhammad Ibn Salih Al Uthaymeen, The Six Fundamental Principles” by Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab, and The Virtues, Conditions and Obligations of Salat by Salih Al Fawzan. Imam Shadeed has published many books including the Rudiments of Wudhu, the struggle against silence, and the audacity of Ignorance. Imam Shadeed is the director of Rawdwah.org, an excellent resource for obtaining Islamic Knowledge.
Ustadha Taimiyyah Zubair is an established teacher of Quran with a focus on Tafsir and Word Analysis. She is a respected and inspirational role model, teaching both globally and in her community for more than a decade.
Ustadha Taimiyyah studied under her parents and scholars, Dr. Idrees Zubair and Dr. Farhat Hashmi (founders of Al Huda International). She has been a student and teacher, at Al Huda Institute, of various Islamic Sciences including Arabic Grammar, Hadith and Fiqh.
Currently, Ustadha Taimiyyah is completing her Humanities degree with a President’s Entrance Scholarship at the University of Waterloo.

Yousef Hussin was born and raised in the United States. He traveled to Egypt where he studied at Al-Azhar University for a time, then continued at the Islamic University of Minnesota, earning a B.A. and M.A. in Islamic Studies. He has received ijazah in Qur’anic recitation from Sheikh Waleed Al-Meneese and Sheikh Sherzaad Tahir. He is the Imam of Masjid Annur in Sacramento, CA.
