Abdulbary Yahya

AbdulBary Yahya was born in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, and very soon thereafter immigrated to the U.S. with his family. He grew up in Seattle, WA and after completing his primary and secondary education there, began his studies at the Islamic University of Madinah. Upon graduation from the Islamic University of Madinahs College of Shariah, AbdulBary Yahya returned to Vietnam and Cambodia and became a teacher and director of the Umm al-Qura Charity Organization in Vietnam. He presently resides in Seattle, WA with his family. He is also an instructor of AlMaghrib Institute.

Dunia Shuaib

Sr. Dunia is a certified marriage educator, host of Deen with Dunia, motivational speaker, lecturer and author. She combines the Qur’an, Sunnah and psychology to help Muslims who are striving to create and maintain a harmonious relationship between their deen and dunya. Dunia is passionate about helping Muslims in their relationships. In addition to her focus in providing psychoeducation, she has been doing extensive research to pinpoint the problems in Muslim marriages in the West and to help find practical solutions. She conducts a variety of workshops and conducts weekly halaqat in the Dallas area.

Jamaal Zarabozo

Dr. Jamaal Zarabozo is a prolific writer, researcher and speaker, who has lectured around the world on many traditional and contemporary issues and gained distinction in the field of dawah. Widely respected in Islamic scholarly circles, he has authored numerous books including a multi-volume explanation of the 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi and “How to Approach and Understand the Quran,” and he has also translated, edited and compiled many others. His diverse works appeal to both the serious student of knowledge as well as Muslims seeking a better understanding of their deen. Dr. Zarabozo also teaches online and onsite courses in Sacramento and in the Bay Area on Fiqh, Hadith, Arabic, and Legal Theory. Aside from his distinguished background in the Islamic Sciences, Sh. Zarabozo also has an educational background in economics – he earned both his Bachelors and Masters in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and Davis. In 2015, he was awarded honorary doctorates by Mishkah University. He serves as one of the juristic experts on the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA) and has participated in the issuing of vital fatawa on issues affecting Muslims today.

Mohammad Elshinawy

Graduate of English Literature – Brooklyn College, NYC. Studied at College of Hadith at the Islamic University of Madinah. Currently completing Bachelors in Islamic Studies at Mishkah University. Translated major works for the International Islamic Publishing House, the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America, and Mishkah University.

Mohammed Faqih

Mohammed Faqih completed a B.A. in Islamic Studies from the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America in Fairfax, VA, and graduated in Quran Memorization and Recitation from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Previously, he has held the positions of Imam [spiritual leader and advisor] at the Islamic Community Center of Laurel in Laurel, MD and at the Islamic Center of San Diego in San Diego, CA. He has also acted as an assistant Imam at the Islamic Association of Raleigh, NC and as a teacher at the Al-Iman School in the same community.

Currently, Mohammed Faqih resides with his family in Orange County and is an instructor with AlMaghrib Institute, an organization that provides trademark double-weekend seminars leading students towards a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies. His most recent course of instruction include The Rules of Engament; Islamic Code of Etihics, and Route 114, Sciences of the Qur’an.

Kamal El Mekki

Kamal El Mekki is a well-known Islamic speaker and lecturer in the United states. He has studied with numerous scholars from around the world and was the Imam of George Mason University. He is mostly popular for his dawah workshop, “How to Give a Shahadah in Ten Minutes”. The workshop is six hours long and has been taught across the United States and throughout the world. It has been attended by thousands and has led hundreds into Islam. He also teaches a number of intensive courses designed for youth and has many lectures especially in the field of Islamic history.

Rasha Al Badry

Ustatha Rasha Al badry was born in Kuwait and raised in Cairo, Egypt. In her secular studies, she graduated from a political sciences college in Egypt. Ustatha Rasha Memorized the Quran and got Ijazah from her shiekh at Al-azhar. She has been teaching Tafseer Al Quran in Arabic and English for more than 15 years.
She has taught Islamic studies for kids and teens for the past 14 years at Islamic schools and halaqahs. She also conducts ladies halaqas and conference line lectures on weekly basis in Fresno. Ustatha Rasha has been a guest speaker at our  conferences in the past and we are happy to be having her again at the conference.

Yousef Hussin

Yousef Hussin was born and raised in the United States. He traveled to Egypt where he studied at Al-Azhar University for a time, then continued at the Islamic University of Minnesota, earning a B.A. and M.A. in Islamic Studies. He has received ijazah in Qur’anic recitation from Sheikh Waleed Al-Meneese and Sheikh Sherzaad Tahir. He is the Imam of Masjid Annur in Sacramento, CA.
